Video: Home sales negotiations are a delicate dance
Josephine Cowling shares her experience with home sales negotiations.
Property sales negotiation can be a delicate dance. It's about understanding the seller's needs and the buyer's priorities. It's about more than just money to achieve a successful outcome.
Timing, inclusions, and personal circumstances often play a crucial role. By actively listening to both parties, we can identify opportunities and create solutions that work for everyone while fostering a sense of engagement and participation.
Successful negotiations involve understanding the motivations of both parties and finding common ground. The price is the core of most negotiations, but the deposit percentage and timing of the settlement are also important components included when a buyer makes an offer.
Property-related factors may include what stays with the property, such as appliances, furniture and fixtures) or repairs to be completed before settlement.
Another consideration could be home warranties if the property is brand new. Sometimes, the seller might ask to rent the property briefly after settling.
To achieve the best final offer and acceptance, you need a seasoned agent with unwavering experience and longevity in real estate and exceptional negotiation skills - don’t leave this to chance.
