Let's move to Ingleside

Lets move to Ingleside

Nestled in the hills of Sydney's Northern Beaches, Ingleside is a prestigious and secluded suburb that offers the perfect blend of natural beauty, suburban tranquility and a great local community. Located just a short drive from the coast, yet far enough from the hustle and bustle, it will always be an attractive option for families and those seeking a more relaxed, semi-rural lifestyle on some impressive landholdings.

Properties here tend to have a sense of exclusivity and escape, for those with busy lives who like to be active and outdoors on weekends. You’re close to Pittwater, including Newport’s yachting and sailing clubs, along with golf courses and a choice of surf beaches. For shopping and other conveniences there is Mona Vale’s shopping village, cafes and restaurants, along with excellent public and private schools - and all this within a 35-minute drive to the CBD.

Ingleside’s history and location

The suburb is named after Ingleside House, a mansion built in the 1880s by Baron von Bieren, an industrial chemist of Dutch and American descent. He established a factory specialising in gunpowder and explosives, which gave Powderworks Road its name.

Ingleside is located 28 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district. Bordered by the larger suburbs of Warriewood, Mona Vale, and Elanora Heights, it’s ideally positioned for access to essential amenities without sacrificing peace and quiet. The suburb is predominantly residential, with a mix of houses, bushland and small pockets of rural land, and some breathtaking ocean views.

Schools and education

One of Ingleside’s biggest attractions for families is its proximity to excellent schools. While there are no schools directly within Ingleside, nearby are many highly regarded educational institutions, including Mona Vale public school, Narrabeen Sports High School, Northern Beaches Christian School, Pittwater House, a private co-educational school, and John Colet School in Belrose.

Things to do locally

Ingleside is perfect for those who love the outdoors, with an abundance of nature reserves, parks, and walking trails to explore. Living here offers the chance to enjoy a unique country lifestyle, coupled with upmarket Northern Beaches coastal living.

Here are some of the local highlights:

Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park: Just a stone's throw away, this stunning national park offers numerous walking tracks, picnicking spots and opportunities for wildlife spotting - the ideal weekend destination for nature lovers and hikers.

Warriewood Beach: One of the many stunning Northern Beaches, a quick drive away and perfect for swimming, surfing and picnicking.

Monash Country Club: This exclusive golf club offers an exceptional golfing experience and a stunning clubhouse, all set in tranquil surroundings.

Ingleside Marketplace is a local, family-run gem offering farm-fresh fruit and vegetables, honey, eggs, fresh flowers, good coffee and an excellent menu serving breakfast and lunch.

Ingleside is also conveniently located near the shopping centres of Mona Vale, Elanora and Warriewood, with plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes to choose from.

Property trends and the housing market

Over the past decade, Ingleside has drawn buyers seeking their forever home, particularly among families who value space, nature and proximity to the beach. Houses here don’t turn over very often compared to other suburbs; due to their size there is a smaller pool of buyers and last year less than ten homes sold here.

But buyers are out there, and will always be interested in the area’s exclusive and beautifully presented homes.
