Church Point is around 32 kilometres north of the Sydney CBD. To get there, either drive north from Manly and turn left at Mona Vale, or come via Sydney’s Northern District and head down McCarrs Creek Road from Terrey Hills. 

Yes, the suburb was once home to a church. Records say it was originally known as Chapel Point after the small chapel erected in the 1870s. The land was originally home to the Guringai people, and sources suggest the Indigenous name is ‘Whurra Whurra’.
